A legal disclaimer
Participation in surfing, surf instruction, ocean activities, and related recreational activities provided by Grand Strand Surf School involves inherent risks, including but not limited to injury, drowning, contact with surfboards or marine life, changing ocean and weather conditions, and other hazards associated with water sports.
By participating in lessons, camps, rentals, or any activities offered by Grand Strand Surf School, participants acknowledge and voluntarily assume all risks associated with these activities. Participants (or a parent/legal guardian if under 18) are responsible for determining whether they are physically and medically capable of participating.
Grand Strand Surf School, its owners, instructors, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, damage, or expense arising from participation in activities, except where prohibited by law.
All participants are required to follow instructor guidance and safety procedures at all times. Failure to comply with safety instructions may result in removal from the activity without refund.
Weather and surf conditions are subject to change. Grand Strand Surf School reserves the right to reschedule, modify, or cancel lessons or camps when conditions are deemed unsafe.
By booking or participating in any activity with Grand Strand Surf School, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
Refund Policy
Thank you for choosing Grand Strand Surf School. Due to the nature of scheduling instructors, equipment reservations, and limited lesson availability, we ask all customers to carefully review our refund and cancellation policy before booking.
Cancellations by Customer

Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the scheduled lesson or camp start time are eligible for a full refund or reschedule.

Cancellations made within 24–48 hours of the scheduled session may receive a credit toward a future booking at the discretion of Grand Strand Surf School.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson, camp, or rental are non-refundable.

No-shows are non-refundable.
Weather & Ocean Conditions
Surfing is an ocean-based activity and conditions naturally vary. Lessons will continue in conditions deemed safe by our instructors, even if conditions are not considered “perfect” for surfing.
If Grand Strand Surf School determines conditions are unsafe due to severe weather, dangerous surf, lightning, or other hazards, lessons may be:

Rescheduled to another available date/time, or

Issued as a credit for future use.
Refunds for weather-related cancellations are provided solely at the discretion of Grand Strand Surf School.
Multi-Day Packages & Camps

Package lessons must be completed on consecutive scheduled days unless otherwise approved.

Once a camp or package begins, partial refunds are not available for missed days or early withdrawal.
Late Arrivals
Participants arriving late may lose lesson time. Excessive lateness may result in cancellation of the session without refund.
Medical or Emergency Situations
We understand emergencies happen. Requests related to medical emergencies or unforeseen circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Refund Processing
Approved refunds may take 5–10 business days to process depending on your payment provider or financial institution.
